The Hackney Right to Grow Plant Out Day, on Sunday 19th April, or any day around then, is designed to start making Hackney more edible. And to flag / identify possible new sites for food growing. We need them!
But we felt we needed some brief guidelines
- collect Perennial Kales, Runner Beans seedlings and beans, flags and signs from GED on Graham Road
- plant and/or flag at sites you think could grow food
- take a photo, and/or a selfie, with a what3Words,
- send those to us, tag us on Instagram or leave a comment below.
But – don’t plant/flag near main/busy roads. Cars, petrol and EV, create pollution that can get into food.
- that includes the new SUDs / drainage areas on roads
- don’t plant anywhere that is dangerous e.g. by roads
- compliment, don’t detract from other people’s planting
- Plant / flag responsibly!
We have a new map showing Edible Hackney, Community food growing sites in Hackney. In time we will update this site with all your photos and locations where you planted.
